According to the recent Sensor Tower report, the share of mobile games revenue across AppStore and Google Play is gradually decreasing, and forecasted that by 2026, non-game apps will represent the major part of total mobile app revenue on AppStore.
The analysts predict that by that period the share of non-game apps on the marketplace will reach 57% of all apps revenue. In 2020, mobile games presented on AppStore accounted for 66% of share revenue and, according to Sensor Tower, this figure will fall by 23 points by 2026.
The situation with mobile games on Google Play is slightly better, but the trend is the same. The analysts believe that games will maintain the majority revenue share and account for 65% in 2026, however, they will lose 18 points compared to 2020.
