It's almost impressive.

When your movie is so bad that Uwe Boll is making fun of it, this is saying something. The recently released Borderlands film has everybody discussing it, but not for the reasons its creators might hope for.
Described by viewers as "cliché," "unfunny," and even "visually repulsive," it managed to earn only $8.8 million in the first week, which is nothing compared to its budget of about $120 million. If that wasn't bad enough, the infamous filmmaker Uwe Boll roasted Borderlands on social media: "Now you wish I directed."
Boll is known for creating video game adaptation flops, including House of the Dead, BloodRayne, Postal, Far Cry, and Alone in the Dark, which is considered to be one of the worst films ever made.
"My movies were rated R and made more money than this," Boll continued, to which one user decided to prove him wrong, saying House of the Dead opened with $5.5 million, and it's his most successful movie. This, of course, didn't stop the filmmaker, who proceeded to claim his works have 41 billion illegal downloads (as a joke. I hope it's a joke.)
Boll doesn't stop at that, bringing up the Stride Gum campaign that was started against him in the 2000s (thanks, PC Gamer.) The company offered free gum for signing a petition demanding that Boll stop directing bad movies.
"But will the gamers contact the makers of Stride Gum and persuade them to give a free pack of gum to each person that signs the petition Eli Roth can no longer direct?" Boll asked. I doubt it will happen, but we probably shouldn't give them ideas.
So, would you like to see Uwe Boll direct Borderlands? I am now actually curious, in a morbid way.
