Indy's getting a high-tech hairdo in September.
NVIDIA
NVIDIA originally introduced RTX Hair technology as part of its RTX 50 Series GPUs suite earlier this year, noting that the feature would be added to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle at a later date. Now, according to the latest news out of Gamescom, the game will officially receive RTX Hair support this September, bringing more realistic, path-traced hair rendering to the iconic adventurer and his world.
RTX Hair improvements take advantage of new hardware features in Blackwell GPUs, including dedicated acceleration for hair and fur ray tracing and the new Linear Swept Sphere (LSS) primitive. This results in faster performance, better image quality, and reduced VRAM usage. Of course, RTX Hair is limited to path tracing, meaning you'll only notice the difference if you're playing the path-traced version.
NVIDIA
For now, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the only confirmed title to support RTX Hair. NVIDIA hasn't announced which other games will feature the technology, but the feature's hardware requirements suggest it will likely be included in future AAA games designed for Blackwell GPUs.
