We live in an era where information, true or false, hits us regularly. That's why, for every rumor, leak, or allegation, we always remind our readers to take everything with a grain of salt.
Fans of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion hold massive hopes for this April, as a few rumors have suggested that the Unreal Engine 5 remake of the beloved 2006 RPG would come this month. One of them, revealed by Detective Seeds, suggested that April 3 was the day, which unfortunately didn't happen.
In fact, two days after April 3, they provided updated information, saying that it could be expected during the week of April 21, after The Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) anniversary event ends, while admitting that the "initial info timeline was off." This time, he's "highly" confident that it will drop after the event concludes, as more than one source has verified the timing. At the same time, he also confirmed that the title would be a "remake," not a remaster.
Obviously, this updated information was "invisible" to Dark Side Of Gaming (DSOG), who were too quick to call Detective Seeds a "fake leaker" and assumed he deleted his account himself because the April 3 release didn't happen, calling it "the end of the story."
This false fact prompted the leaker to create a post highlighting the outlet for dishonesty and failure to verify that the account had been hacked, not closed, and once the owner regained access, it remained active, with the original rumor post still visible and not deleted.
A few hours later, DSOG updated the article to correct this misinformation about his account being "deleted," yet the title of the coverage and the title of "fake leaker" they gave to Seeds remain unchanged.
Despite this whole ordeal, rumors about The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion's remake persist. We're still in the middle of April, and an earlier report from insider NatetheHate said that it might be available as early as this month.
Oh, one thing to keep in mind: We haven't heard ANY official announcement about the whole The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remake yet, although a leaked 2020 internal document from Bethesda said it was in the plan, so take it with a grain of salt too.
