Obsidian Co-Founder Says Studio Has No Plans for Outer Worlds 3 But Making Avowed 2
Chris Avellone has a scoop.
Obsidian
Chris Avellone, the co-founder of Obsidian Entertainment, who you might know for designing Planescape: Torment, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, and Fallout: New Vegas, left the studio in 2015 but still has some connections, it seems.
He reported that "aside from DLC plans for Outer Worlds 2, it seems like Obsidian is making no plans for Outer Worlds 3 (but they are doing Avowed 2)."
The Outer Worlds 2 was released a week ago, and I'm sure Obsidian will have its hands full with patches and DLCs for the next year, so the news of no triquel (or plans for it) is not surprising.
Avowed 2, on the other hand, is a more interesting piece. The game was liked well enough by players at launch, but the number of players was pretty underwhelming. Its concurrent players on Steam peaked in February at 19,198, and now, it gets about 200 users playing at the same time daily.
But it seems like Obsidian sees more potential in the game if Avellone's information is right.
