Only 2,000 Players Bought Resident Evil 7 on iOS

New estimates say it didn't bring Capcom much money.

Apple's iPhone 15 is considered a powerful mobile gaming device that can run even PC games. But do players really need them on their phones, especially at a higher-than-usual price?

The answer doesn't seem very positive for Capcom. According to Appmagic's estimates, Resident Evil 7, released on July 2, has been downloaded around 83,000 times on iOS (via Mobile Gamer,) and only about 2,000 people bought the full version.

Appmagic suggests the title brought Capcom $28,140 without Apple's 30% cut – the full version costs $19.99, a steeper price than the usual $5-$10 for a mobile game. With this and its 25 GB size, isn't it easier to simply play the PC or console version?

It seems so because other big games didn't show much better results. As previously reported, Resident Evil 4 got 7,000 paying users, Assassin’s Creed Mirage enticed around 3,000 to 5,750 players, and Death Stranding earned approximately $212,000 to $348,000.

Overall, while the mobile market keeps growing, there doesn't seem to be much space for fully-priced gaming experiences just yet.
