Open AI Presented GPT-4 Turbo
This model will be cheaper, contain more information, and offer copyright indemnity to enterprise users.
On Monday, during their first developer conference, Open AI presented GPT-4 Turbo, which is now available via API preview. According to the developer, this version has been trained with information dating up to April 2023. This surpasses the previous version, GPT-4, which was trained on data only up to September 2021.
GPT-4 Turbo also features an expanded 128K context window, which is "equivalent to more than 300 pages of text in a single prompt", allowing for more comprehensive understanding and thoughtful responses. Developers will find it more cost-effective, with input priced at $0.01 per 1,000 tokens and output at $0.03 per 1,000 tokens, making it three times cheaper than earlier versions of GPT-4.

GPT-4 Turbo will continue to support image prompts and text-to-speech requests and incorporate the DALL-E 3 feature. These improvements allow users to ask the model to perform more complex tasks within a single prompt. Also, users can specify their preferred coding language, such as XML or JSON, for desired results.
Speaking of copyright lawsuits, OpenAI presented Copyright Shield, a program that offers copyright indemnity to enterprise users. This program will provide coverage for generally available features of ChatGPT Enterprise and OpenAI's developer platform.
The exact release date of GPT-4 Turbo hasn't been announced yet but OpenAI plans to launch this model in the coming weeks. Learn more about GPT-4 Turbo here and check the source here.
