Palworld's Dev Says Switch Release is Hard Due to "Technical Reasons"

Bad news for Switch players.

For players hoping to enjoy the survival hit Palworld by Pocketpair on their Nintendo Switch, the news might be disappointing. CEO Takuro Mizobe has expressed uncertainty about the feasibility of porting the game to this platform.

In an early June interview with Game File, Mizobe discussed the potential challenges of this undertaking. He stated, “Palworld's specs on PC are higher than the Switch's specs. So maybe it's hard to port to Switch just for technical reasons." (Thanks, VGC) While this might be frustrating for some, Mizobe confirmed that Pocketpair is "still discussing" the possibility of bringing the game to new platforms, although no updates on this are available at the moment.

Palworld

Palworld has achieved remarkable success since its release in January via Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview. According to Pocketpair, the game attracted an impressive 25 million players within its first month alone. It ranks as one of the most-played games on Steam, with a peak concurrent player count exceeding 2.1 million. This significant figure places it second in the platform's history, surpassed only by PUBG's record of 3.2 million players.
