With the December 2025 release of Maxon One, ZBrush for iPad received several desktop features, plus an exclusive addition: a photogrammetry system that lets users create 3D models of real-world objects using the iPad's camera.
A new Capture button in the menu starts the scanning process. Guides help you navigate the steps while ZBrush shows a real-time preview as the scan progresses. For optimal results, Maxon advises using at least 100 photos. After three passes, the app processes the data to generate a 3D model complete with textures, which can then be refined using ZBrush's tools.
Please note that photogrammetry is supported on iPads running iPadOS 17 or later, equipped with an A14 Bionic chip or newer, and a LiDAR scanner.
