Pirate Adventure Return to Monkey Island Announced

Devolver Digital announced a follow-up to the classic adventures Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge. Return to Monkey Island is set to be released in 2022, although the exact date is not specified yet.

The game is being developed by the original creator of the series Ron Gilbert and his Terrible Toybox studio in collaboration with Devolver Digital and Lucasfilm Games. Gilbert shared that he's been working on the game for the past 2 years "in complete secrecy."

The Secret of Monkey Island is a 1990 point-and-click adventure game, where you play as Guybrush Threepwood and try to become a pirate by solving puzzles. The game is praised for its humor, audiovisuals, and gameplay and is considered one of the classics in the genre.
