With each passing day, the new 2024 year brings more layoffs. As we reported on Friday, a new wave of job cuts was spotted on Wednesday when Google downsized hundreds of employees.
The next on the list is Pixar. Having laid off 75 employees in June 2023, the company is reportedly undergoing job cuts again as its parent company, Disney, struggles to make a profit.
Based on a recent report by TechCrunch, Pixar will cut its staff from 1,300 to less than 1,000 employees, which is around 20%. The company contacted TechCrunch and responded that "those numbers are too high" as the amount of people that will be laid off is still unknown because of production schedules, staffing for future films, and other factors.
Pixar also mentioned that it would be laying off people hired for Disney+.
