Play Xbox Console Games on PC with Backward Compatibility

The initiative starts with four classic games, and more will be added.

Xbox officially announced Backward Compatibility on PC, bringing console titles to PC and handhelds, including ROG XBOX Ally and XBOX Ally X, with enhanced gameplay. The project launched in early release with four classic original Xbox games, and more are on the way.

The initiative is a first step of a broader effort to preserve classic Xbox games and introduce them to the PC audience. "Your library is more than just a collection of games. It is your personal history of epic stories and treasured memories from the past," says Jason Ronald, VP of Next Generation at Xbox.

Additionally, the games brought to PC will not only preserve original gameplay but also feature enhancements – customizable graphics settings with up to 4x resolution upscaling, VSync support, Fullscreen and Windowed display modes, anisotropic filtering, enhanced anti-aliasing, and more, alongside customizable language and audio settings.

The games available with the feature are:

BLiNX: The Time Sweeper
Conker: Live and Reloaded
Crimson Skies®: High Road to Revenge
Fuzion Frenzy®

All of these games are now available for purchase on PC and are included across all Xbox Game Pass plans. If you have a digital key, you don't have to repurchase: existing digital licenses for these games on console will automatically carry over to PC and handheld devices.

Microsoft has outlined the minimum and recommended system requirements to run the feature:

CPU: 4 cores and 8 threads | Intel Core i3-10300 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 or AMD Ryzen Z2 A

RAM: 8 GB

Video Memory: 4 GB

OS: Windows 11
Drivers and Versions: Latest Version as of January 2026

Recommended Requirements

GPU: Radeon RX 6800S or Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti or Intel Arc A770

CPU: 6 cores and 12 threads | Intel Core i5-10400 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 or AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme

Video Memory: 8 GB
