Sometimes, when you try to cancel a digital subscription, a platform offers you a tempting deal to stay and purchase the next membership period at a discount. It seems that if you try to cancel your PS Plus plan, Sony might offer you such a deal.
Players have been sharing online that PlayStation offers discounts to players who try to cancel their subscription. The discount offer to those who try to cancel PS Plus might even amount to 50% for three months – the only reservation is that a player has to pay upfront.
The discounts appear to vary for each player, with no clear pattern in the amount of discount or a subscription period. Thus, another report states that PS Plus offered a 25% discount for 12 months; however, some users on Reddit share that they didn't get a discount when trying to cancel at all.
Such a policy likely comes after Sony received backlash and cancellation attempts following their decision to cancel physical disc production, switching to digital releases only, though Sony has not officially confirmed this connection. The company's first public comment after the controversial disc announcement is about Sony's arcade controller. "Switch out lever gates with ease on the FlexStrike wireless fight stick," the company wrote.
