Sony expands its presence in the video games market by introducing titles to PC and mobile, but consoles will be its primary focus, as stated by Hideaki Nishino, the head of Sony Interactive's Platform Business Group since June.
In an interview with Nikkei (via VGC), PlayStation's co-CEO noted that PC and mobiles have drawbacks, which consoles are spared of: "I think that with mobile devices, there are many games that show advertisements, and PCs are difficult to set up, but with PlayStation, once you turn it on, you can experience the content you bought straight away." He also commented on the difference in the use of software store: "The store where you purchase software also offers an intuitive experience because the products are laid out in an easy-to-understand manner."
Then, Hideaki Nishino touched upon the company's strategy, saying that Sony strengthened its position in the game market by developing PC content as well. However, he stated that PS will be a major priority for the company's development: "There is no doubt that consoles will be at the core of our business, but by offering titles for platforms other than consoles, we will reach a wider range of customers."

Among the titles Sony has released on other platforms is Helldivers 2. It was estimated that the simultaneous launch on PS5 and PC made it one of Sony's most successful games ever. Also, recently, it was confirmed that Sony's God of War Ragnarök will launch on PC.

Sony expands its console store as well, with its upcoming release of PS5 Pro and also with the introduction of refurbished consoles and controllers. Back in 2023, Sony Interactive Entertainment shared its plans to expand its titles even "beyond gaming" by creating movies, TV series, and merchandise based on PlayStation titles to "broaden franchise awareness" and "give existing fans more ways to engage."
