Cyberpunk 2077 took some time to become the great game it is, but there was a time when it looked pretty different from what we know now.
Game reviewer Synth Potato shared a video of a pre-alpha version of the game that was allegedly shot in 2013, which shows Cyberpunk 2077 in third-person perspective, with the camera peeking from behind V's shoulder.
As expected, everything is pretty rough in this early footage, from animations to assets and textures. Still, it's an interesting view on what CDPR had in mind over a decade ago.
Some players lamented the studio's decision to switch to first-person view, although it might just be the novelty of the perspective.
Whatever the case, it's a nice glimpse at the old days while we're waiting for the sequel, which promises to deliver "the most realistic and reactive crowd system in any game to date."
