Deep Silver also revealed the editions that will be available at launch.

Pre-orders for the upcoming post-apocalyptic FPS METRO 2039 are open, and publisher Deep Silver has also unveiled the editions that will be available on the game's launch day, February 4, 2027, when it arrives on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Pre-ordering the game gives you the Specialist Pack pre-order bonus, available for all pre-ordered editions, which lets you unlock Blueprints early. Three upgrades are available to choose from, but players can only equip one at a time. The Deluxe Edition includes the official game soundtrack and the gorgeous visuals of the concept art book, for both physical and digital editions, plus access to the Story Expansion DLC, releasing in 2027. The Collector's Edition is the most voluminous and includes a wearable Spartan Helmet replica and the full contents of the Deluxe Edition and the pre-order bonus.

Have a look at the details:

METRO 2039, a sequel to METRO Exodus, is developed by 4A Games, known for Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light, Arktika.1, and Metro Exodus, and published by Deep Silver, which published the Volition, Metro, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance franchises. The new METRO series entry is set four years after Exodus in a post-apocalyptic Moscow and features a twisted narrative crafted by the acclaimed series writer Dmitry Glykhovsky.

The plot introduces a mysterious protagonist, "The Stranger," who replaces Artyom and infiltrates the city occupied by the authoritarian Novoreich regime. Overall, the game is described by the developer as "hauntingly beautiful," and its handcrafted world features more tightly constructed, claustrophobic environments.

You can catch a glimpse of the new character and METRO 2039's world in a gameplay trailer:

The shooter runs at 4K 60 FPS, and ray tracing will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X consoles. Earlier, the creators shared a first look at the console gameplay:
