Procedural Game Console Made Fully In Substance 3D Designer

Check out Cem Tezcan's amaizing recent work.

Cem Tezcan

One of last year's Substance 3D Designer Insanity Awards winners, Cem Tezcan, has probably proven the title with this piece, a procedural game console design that contains no 3D geometry.

Using a set of 7 procedurally created textures, he displaced 7 planar planes with height maps to shape the device. The artist explained that with this project he approached the displacement system with a "plastic injection molding" technique, incorporating thickness. To best showcase this, he defined the material as a smokey plastic shell.

Here are some renders and close-up shots of the design:

For the PCB board, Cem Tezcan used his custom electronics material that generates randomized procedural electronic components on a PCB with various parameters, which you can grab here.
