Procreate's CEO Promises It Won't Introduce Generative AI
"I really f*cking hate generative AI."

With generative AI rapidly taking over creative industries, artists want to know who is on which side. Companies like Canva and Adobe have already added artificial intelligence tools to their software, but what about the digital painting app Procreate?
Its CEO James Cuda went to Twitter to express his opinion on the matter. "I really f*cking hate generative AI," he started and promised that Procreate won't introduce such tools. He doesn't like what's happening in the industry now, but Savage Interactive's products are always designed for humans.
"Generative AI is ripping the humanity out of things. Built on a foundation of theft, the technology is steering us toward a barren future. We think machine learning is a compelling technology with a lot of merit, but the path generative AI is on is wrong for us," says Procreate in a statement on its website.
The team is not going for a technology "that is a moral threat to our greatest jewel: human creativity," and most users appreciate it.
Fights against AI tools stealing artworks have been going on for years now. Last year, artists filed a class-action lawsuit against Stability AI, the developers of Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, and DeviantArt, followed by authors suing the ChatGPT maker OpenAI and Meta.
"You know, we don’t exactly know where this story’s gonna go, or how it ends. But we believe we’re on the right path supporting human creativity," Cuda ended his speech, and hopefully, he keeps his word.
