"What you will get will be higher quality visuals, but likely still running at similar frame rates."

Announced just a few days ago, PlayStation 5 Pro has generated mixed reactions, with many questioning the console's high cost given its minor graphical enhancements and absence of exclusive titles. This naturally leads to concerns about how the highly anticipated GTA 6, expected to launch first on consoles, will run on it.
In a recent interview with IGN, Digital Foundry's Richard Leadbetter was asked if GTA 6 would realistically run at 60 FPS on the PS5 Pro. The expert suggested that it's unlikely: "No. Grand Theft Auto games have always run complex simulations that push the CPU hard, which is why every GTA game has initially launched on their target platforms at 30 FPS".
According to Richard Leadbetter, the PS5 Pro uses the same CPU as the PS5, and it would be extremely challenging to hit 60 FPS if the base PS5 version is targeting 30 FPS, making it a CPU problem rather than a GPU one.

GTA 6 is expected to deliver one of the most realistic portrayals of urban life, which will also place a heavy demand on the CPU to manage various NPC behaviors, limiting the capacity to increase frame rates. The game continuously runs complex simulations, including traffic and pedestrian dynamics, to keep its open world vibrant and interactive.
However, Richard Leadbetter acknowledged that this is all speculative, as the presentation did not reveal enough about the hardware's full capabilities. Still, GTA 6 will certailnly look better on the new console. "What you will get will be higher quality visuals, but likely still running at similar frame rates," said the expert.
