PUNCHit: A New Extrusion Tool for Blender

Here's a useful add-on that is promised to cover all your extrusion needs in Blender.

A developer known as machin3 has released a new tool that Blender Artists will definitely find useful. Meet PUNCHit, a dedicated, single-purpose add-on that features a negative manifold extrusion tool that attempts to work more reliably and be more flexible than Blender's native Manifold Extrusion. The add-on can be used to create a negative, manifold extrusion along either the averaged face normal, the individual vertex normals, or a user-defined edge.

Unlike Blender's native Extrusion tool, it can be used to punch through meshes, hence the name, as well as subtractively extrude at the mesh silhouette. The tool supports Windows, macOS, or Linux and is designed for Blender 3.0.

You can learn more and download the add-on here. Also, don't forget to join our new Reddit pageour new Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we are sharing breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.

It's a shame the creator of this plugin and Decal Machine acts like a 12 year old with anger management problems the instant he's faced with any criticism whatsoever, even constructive feedback he could otherwise use to improve his plug-ins if he wasn't so busy attacking and mocking the people offering it. I was really looking forward to trying decal machine until I heard about this. I was told to look at his responses to reviews of Decal Machine on blender market before purchasing it, and I'm glad I did. After seeing it for myself, I chose not to support him, which is unfortunate considering how useful these plug-ins are.. I realize it's nothing to him and most people don't share this opinion or my standards. To each their own, and if you have no issues supporting that mentality, then obviously do it. But I personally can't justify it. It's bad enough creators are practically forced to support companies like Adobe and Maxon making us lease the right to use their software, so knowing I can avoid supporting a child with a temper in exchange for a few extra steps in my workflow? I'll gladly take the extra steps..
