The shaders were made by Rahul "DoubleGum" Parihar for the Komikaze pack.
Rahul "DoubleGum" Parihar, a well-known Shader Artist and Blender enthusiast, whom you might know as the creator of Clay D'oh, a cool procedural shader for setting up claymations in Blender Cycles and EEVEE, has recently shared a look at a couple of cool new shaders created for Komikaze, the artist's collection of materials that lets one add a cartoonish look to 3D models.
Created with Blender, the new real-time shaders allow you to apply an appealing hatching effect to your models. For those unaware, hatching is a shading technique predominantly utilized in 2D art, involving the art of drawing numerous parallel lines in close proximity to one another.
According to the short demo shared by Rahul, the new shaders include both cross hatching and linear hatching and can be combined with various effects, such as Noise, Fresnel, and Outline.
As mentioned before, the new shaders were created for and will soon be added to Komikaze, an extensive compilation of shaders, materials, effects, demos, and various assets designed to cater to the requirements of comic and toon art.
It is specifically tailored for creating stylized non-photorealistic (NPR) renders and seamlessly integrates with Blender EEVEE, providing optimal performance for real-time rendering.
Each material is accompanied by its own unique node, allowing effortless control over colors, textures, and mappings, facilitating a swift and adaptable workflow.
Earlier, the creator showcased the pack's Ember shader in action, demonstrating a cool-looking 3D character that can only be described as a cartoon version of Ghost Rider:
And back in July, Rahul unveiled "Across The ShaderVerse", a neat WiP shader inspired by Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, also made for Komikaze:
