Realistic Spider-Man Webs Created With Unreal Engine

gibb0 has demonstrated a couple of cool new features created for their WiP Spider-Man project.

3D Artist and Game Developer known only as gibb0 has recently shared a couple of cool new demos, providing a highly-anticipated update on their outstanding WiP Spider-Man project and showcasing novel game mechanics developed for it.

For those unaware, the developer has been working on the project for more than three years at the least, with the first tweet showcasing a web-swinging system created for the game dating back to May 2020. The project is being created in collaboration with Animator Sarp Serter, who is responsible for Spidey's fluid animations, and is powered by Unreal Engine.

This time, the creator impressed us with the project's updated spider webs, which now act more naturally and can dynamically wrap and unwrap around geometry, and the newly added web wings.

Earlier, the developer also demonstrated some impressive web-swinging moves and a fun manhole-skating mechanic:

And here are some more of gibb0's awesome demos, you can check out more by visiting the developer's Twitter page:

We also recommend checking out Serter's YouTube channel to see all of the project's cool animations in the making:

And here are some great tutorials that explain how you can set up similar web-swinging mechanics in Unreal Engine:
