Realistic Wounded Hands Made With Maya & Substance 3D Painter

Malte Resenberger-Loosmann shared a closer look at first-person hands made for the upcoming UE5-powered horror game ILL.

Lead Hard-Surface and Material 3D Artist Malte Resenberger-Loosmann has recently shared some behind-the-scenes renders of realistic-looking wounded hands made by the artist for the first gameplay trailer for ILL, an upcoming horror game currently being developed by Clout Games.

In the recent ArtStation post, Malte provided some close-ups of the first-person hands, showcasing the small details and lifelike scratches, injuries, and dirt that they boast. According to the project's description, the hands were modeled with Maya, textured in Substance 3D Painter, and rendered in Unreal Engine 5, the engine the game itself is powered by. Below are some of the shots shared by the artist, you can check out more by visiting Malte's ArtStation page.

If you are interested in the game itself, we also recommend checking out our 2021 interview with Clout Games, in which the developers discussed their sources of inspiration, spoke about ILL's gameplay mechanics, and explained how they create the atmosphere of horror.
