It offers improved alignment, AI masking, and aerial LiDAR support.
RealityScan, formerly RealityCapture, software for photogrammetry workflows, has received a new version. RealityScan 2.0 brings improved workflows, smarter automation, and advanced inspection features that artists will appreciate.
No need to manually mask images anymore: AI masking will separate the object from the background itself, speeding up your work.
Capturing Reality has also introduced new default settings to improve image alignment so you get better model consistency and aerial LiDAR support to help you combine aerial images, aerial LiDAR, and terrestrial data "to generate precise orthographic projections, maps, and 3D models."

Another extremely useful feature is quality analysis, which shows you where your scan may be incomplete. Using visual heatmaps, you can see where your model lacks coverage and save yourself precious time on cleanup.
RealityScan is free to use for students, educators, and developers with an annual gross revenue below $1 million.
