Rockstar announced that they decided to acquire the Cfx.re team, known for their roleplay servers for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.

The company says they've been exploring the community's creativity on roleplay servers for several years and wanted to support this direction by providing the authors with even more opportunities.

"Over the past few years, we've watched with excitement as Rockstar’s creative community have found new ways to expand the possibilities of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, particularly through the creation of dedicated roleplay servers," wrote Rockstar. "As a way to further support those efforts, we recently expanded our policy on mods to officially include those made by the roleplay creative community."

In case you're worried about the roleplay servers from the Cfx.re team, they emphasized the daily work on GTA V and RDR 2 will remain unchanged. The team also asked the community not to ask questions about GTA 6 as their responsibilities only involve working on communities for the currently available games.
