MI400 and RX 9000 will use the same.
AMD
AMD will soon face some changes, according to a new report, with RDNA 4 transitioning to the UDNA architecture.
As Chiphell Forum member zhangzhonghao claims, AMD will skip RDNA 5 and move right to UDNA, which will combine CDNA (Instinct) designed for data centers and RDNA (Radeon), a popular technology met in gaming GPUs. Its MI400 and RX 9000 cards will utilize the same UDNA architecture, it seems.
That's not all: zhangzhonghao, citing a supply chain, says PlayStation 6 will be powered by UDNA. As for its CPU, Sony hasn't decided between Zen 4 and Zen 5 yet. Its handheld will also allegedly use AMD hardware.
Speaking of handhelds, zhangzhonghao also heard that Microsoft is working on its own portable console, choosing between Qualcomm and AMD to power it, but there is no additional information about it.
While UDNA should reportedly start mass production in Q2 2026, PS6 is not expected to arrive before 2027.
