Rumor: Ubisoft Canceled Star Wars Outlaws Sequel
Not surprising.
Ubisoft
Star Wars Outlaws was not a hit for Ubisoft, and its fate was clear long before its release. Despite that, the company apparently planned to develop a sequel, according to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, who claims that this same sequel has recently been canceled.
I don't think anyone will cry about it, honestly, but at least Ubisoft got to its senses before shipping another sad failure. Failure that the company blamed on the declining popularity of the Star Wars franchise. Not on the game's bugs but on one of the most famous media pieces in history.
Star Wars Outlaws sold only one million copies in the first month, which is tragic for a studio of such caliber. Its director was "a little disappointed" with the poor reception, brewing months before the release. Oh well, what else is new.
