Sanitarium, a legendary point-and-click psychological horror from developer Dotemu and publisher Ziggurat, an acclaimed game that was named Adventure Game of the Year, will get a new life with an upcoming enhanced version, featuring controller support, a range of improvements, and exclusive bonus materials.

Sanitarium Enhanced is being developed by QUByte Interactive and DreamForge Intertainment, with the publisher Ziggurat Interactive. The plot will stay the same, and the revamped game will feature technical improvements such as widescreen support during gameplay, controller support, Steam Deck optimizations, and fixes to legacy bugs and issues, as well as quality-of-life improvements including an optional movement speed toggle.

Gameplay will also include an optional hint mode that helps players identify which objects are interactable. In addition, the enhanced edition will feature a gallery of unique, never-before-seen materials from the original development team.

The release date hasn't been set yet; all we know is that Sanitarium Enhanced will launch in 2026.
