Santa Monica Seems to Be Working on a New God of War Game

A job listing posted on the Santa Monica Studio website suggests that the development of a new installment in the God of War franchise may be underway.

Santa Monica Studio's website recently unveiled an intriguing job listing that hints that the continuation of the God of War franchise might be in the works.

According to the studio’s website, the team is now in search of a Senior Combat Designer (Companions) – the specialist that will be responsible for the development of combat mechanics for the protagonist's companions.

As per the job listing, the ideal candidate for the role should have a minimum of four years of development experience and demonstrate the ability to "drive features forward by representing them with confidence and knowledge."

However, what makes the listing particularly intriguing is the requirement mentioned at the bottom – the candidate "must have knowledge of God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök (2022)" – which suggests that the role is potentially related to an upcoming installment in the God of War series.

Certainly, it's just speculation and it's unclear whether the team is indeed working on the new God of War game. Earlier, it was reported that Santa Monica has been engaged in multiple projects simultaneously, however, the nature of these projects wasn't disclosed.

The only thing we know for sure is that Santa Monica is not pursuing a continuation of the Norse saga as creative director Cory Barlog had previously confirmed that Ragnarök would serve as its final chapter.
