See How This Music Video Was Made In Blender Instead Of After Effects

Blender is more than capable of handling motion design work.

Behind-the-scenes footage of 3D productions is always fascinating, especially when you don't expect a particular piece of software to be used for that kind of work. Blender has traditionally been associated with 3D modeling and game development, so it's unusual to see it used to create the motion design visuals for 18-year-old singer Yuu's cover of Brand New, originally by Japanese rock band Mrs. GREEN APPLE.

The artwork was done by Sayu, while the singer herself worked on the character animation. The video production was handled by 原悠和, and as they revealed, After Effects was still used for the text elements.
