See How You Can Create 2D-Like Character in Fred Arsenault's Breakdown

A beautiful lady among plants.

If you've seen Frédéric Arsenault's stunning Flourish piece, you for sure remember it – it's hard not to, that's how beautiful it is. Inspired by work created in 2D by Lois van Baarle, also known as Loish, he masterfully moved this painterly style to the next dimension, and now, you can, too.

Arsenault released a breakdown of his work, sharing the behind-the-scenes of how he achieved this feat in steps, although you should know it's not a pre-recorded video of the whole process.

Still, you can see Arsenault's thinking and workflows to try and replicate them using ZBrush and Substance 3D Painter. He also shares some useful general tips for 3D artists, so make sure to watch the whole video if you wish to become a better creator.

You can also check out Arsenault's other works on ArtStation for inspiration and perhaps some more artistic insight.
