See What Black Myth: Zhong Kui Brings in 15-Minute Gameplay Trailer
It looks even better than Wukong.
Game Science
Black Myth: Wukong was a breakthrough for Chinese game development, selling over 30 million copies worldwide and bringing Game Science unbelievable fame. And money, which goes where it should, based on the new gameplay trailer the studio has released for the next part in the series, Zhong Kui.
Watching the protagonist fight regular enemies and a boss at the end is exciting, even with the limited time in this old but new universe. This time, you'll wield a sword instead of a staff, which might change the style dramatically. The cutscenes look stunning, and the battles are deliciously impactful.
Some cinematic shots appear movie-like thanks to the studio's attention to detail. The trailer is depressingly gray – appropriate for the fights, but I'd like to see what Game Science did with the greenery.
Game Science
Black Myth: Zhong Kui will continue the legacy of its predecessor, unveiling the secrets of Chinese folklore on PlayStation, Xbox Series, and PC. Zhong Kui is "the ghost-catching god who wanders between Hell and Earth," and you can see some of his unique powers in the trailer.
Just a year ago, Zhong Kui was "little more than an empty folder," but now it looks like the game will be released sooner than we all might expect, although there is no date yet.
