PlayStation's State of Play has brought a series of exciting news for gamers with trailers and announcements that thrill everyone. For horror game lovers, the best part could be the official announcement from Konami that the highly anticipated psychological horror game Silent Hill f will be released this September.
The first half of the release date trailer showcases the eerie and unsettling 1960s Japanese setting, accompanied by haunting music, while the second part emphasizes the intense combat with creepy creatures (words are quite plain here to describe the feeling).
Announced during the first Silent Hill Transmission in October 2022, the game received the official reveal trailer and Steam page this March. The trailer gives us a peek at the story of protagonist Hinako Shimizu, who confronts the eerie transformations of her hometown of Ebisugaoka after being enveloped by a mysterious fog.
As the first game in the franchise to get an 18+ ESRB rating in Japan, the game's ESRB rating description explicitly describes the horrors that await. It says some cutscenes show gore and tons of violence, including "a character burned alive inside a cage; a woman branded by a hot iron; entrails and sinew displayed on serving platters in fantastical celebration/ceremony; a character sawing off her own arm; a character slicing off portions of a character's face during a ritual."
