Jason Key reminds us about LiquiGen 1.0's impending launch.
VFX Artist and Evangelist at JangaFX Jason Key reminds us once again about the impending launch of LiquiGen 1.0, set to take place sometime this year, by offering one more look at the software's upcoming viscosity solver.
Initially presented by JangaFX CEO Nick Seavert in mid-April, LiquiGen 1.0's solver allows for easy simulation of fluids with varying viscosity levels and can even replicate complex behaviors such as coiling and buckling. Using an internal test build and lowering the viscosity value compared to the one in Nick's demo, Jason set up a real-time simulation of pouring honey/syrup and, as per the community's request, showed how it looks on digital pancakes. You can learn more about Jason's experiments with JangaFX applications by clicking this link.

Besides LiquiGen 1.0, the studio's to-do list for 2025 also includes the launch of IlluGen, a new addition to their product lineup announced with a mysterious description back in January.
According to Seavert, IlluGen is a node-based visual effects software designed specifically for video games, combining the best aspects and strengths of tools like Houdini, Photoshop, Substance 3D Designer, 3ds Max, Maya, and other VFX solutions into one convenient package.
IlluGen is set to launch sometime this summer, with core features including the ability to generate procedural 2D textures, a dedicated toolset for 3D mesh generation, support for hand-painted textures, and Flipbook encoding and decoding.
