San Francisco Chronicle reports that Activision Blizzard-owned Toys for Bob has been affected by the recent layoffs. According to the outlet, 86 workers will be let go and its office will be closed down, although it seems the studio will continue operating either remotely or in other offices of the parent company.
Toys for Bob is known for developing Skylanders, Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time and lately helping with the Call of Duty franchise.
Another company to suffer damages is Sledgehammer Games, another Call of Duty developer, according to state filings. It's lost 76 employees and its office, as reported by Insider Gaming last month.
Above it all is Microsoft, which has bought Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion after many court hearings and is now laying off 10,000 employees. The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the last to oppose the acquisition, didn't like the tech giant cutting jobs, 899 of which are in Activision Blizzard, and complained to a federal appeals court, saying that this decision goes against Microsoft's promises.
