Slime-Like Adhesive Simulation Set Up in a Custom Engine

This sticky and gooey simulation was made by Asbjørn L.

Asbjørn L, a Game Developer and Digital Artist, has recently shared a new WiP demo showcasing an impressive game mechanic created for an upcoming 2D physics sandbox game with survival/RPG elements being developed by a two-person indie game development team comprised of Asbjørn and Marcus V.

Continuing the series of similar showcases, the new demo provided a look at a sticky and gooey slime-like adhesive simulation created for the game. According to the developer, the adhesive works by "solving across particle pairs of different materials within 'particleDiameter*1.2' distance of each other in a way that makes the two particles approach contact."

Much like the rest of the game's awesome mechanics, the newly-shown sim was set up in the team's custom-built game engine, which, according to one of Asbjørn's previous tweets, utilizes Vulkan and DX11 and was written in C++.
