Sonic Frontiers 2 Is Reportedly in Development

There's no official confirmation, but it wouldn't be surprising.

Sonic Frontiers is a very successful game in SEGA's portfolio. Released in 2022, it became the fourth best-selling game during its first week of release and sold over 3 million copies in several months. Naturally, a sequel would be a nice addition to the franchise, and it looks like we might get one.

Insider Daniel Richtman shared that Sonic Frontiers 2 is in development – a piece of information also corroborated by Midori, a well-known SEGA leaker.

Midori added that the game is "a sequel to Frontiers in gameplay style," so you'll probably love it if the first one was your cup of tea. "But the name might change. Frontiers was Rangers until it was announced."

Again, I feel it's my duty to remind excited fans that it's just a rumor at the moment, although I see no reason for SEGA not to make the sequel. With the first part's positive reception, the game is bound to bring it a lot of money. If it's as good as the prequel, of course.

In other Sonic news, SEGA is also reportedly developing a Fall Guys-like Sonic game while the series' co-creator Yuji Naka accuses Dragon Quest's producer Yu Miyake of lying in court.
