Morio Kishimoto takes feedback seriously.
Sonic Frontiers was released on November 8 and has received both praise and criticism, although players mostly leave positive reviews. Morio Kishimoto, the director of the game, said that all the feedback is taken into account and the launch is considered a "global playtest".
"I'm relieved that the release date has arrived and that it seems to have reached everyone safely. We are checking the opinions of the critics and everyone. As you pointed out, we still have a long way to go, and we take this seriously as a global playtest," he wrote on Twitter.
Some players report visual issues and problems with optimization, so they might be the first the team works on.
Kishimoto also said that Frontiers is an important milestone for the franchise: the open-zone structure of the game is "full of possibilities" and the team will continue to challenge themselves to greater heights.
Sonic Frontiers is available now on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
