Sony Interactive Entertainment is said to have the highest average yearly income among employees of seven Japanese gaming companies.
The information comes from OpenMoney, a salary information database (via AUTOMATON), which recently published a list of Japanese video game companies featuring data on employees' average income, monthly overtime hours, and work satisfaction. The data covers the period from 2024.
In a chart ranking Japanese game companies by highest average yearly income, Sony Interactive Entertainment takes the top spot, with an average yearly income of 9.94 million JPY (about $63k USD), 17.6 hours of average monthly overtime, which is the lowest on the list, and a work satisfaction score of 3.85 out of 5.
The runner-up is Capcom, with an average yearly income of 8.40 million JPY (about $53k USD), 20 hours of average monthly overtime, and a satisfaction score of 3.83. The next in the chart are SEGA, Bandai Namco Entertainment, which has the highest satisfaction score of 3.89, Nintendo, Konami Digital Entertainment, and Square Enix.
