Sony Patents Asymmetric VR Gameplay

The team is working on new ways to play VR games.

A recently-published patent by Sony revealed that the team is working on an asymmetric VR mechanic that will potentially let an audience participate and influence in a VR experience.

The new patent focuses on "augmenting the VR scene based on the spectator inputs in response to the interactive content of the audience participation content." The idea is that one user can be inside VR while the other people can influence the VR experience by voting. You can, for example, choose the next danger, new path, or something else.

The audience on the concept appears to be holding some objects to vote. Will the tech use a phone in this case or some kind of physical voting card? What are your thoughts on the new technology? Let us know in the comments.
