According to Tom Henderson's sources, including the one that shared intel about a new PS5 "Pro" controller, Sony will fully integrate Discord and its voice chat into PlayStation in the coming months.

Seems like the integration, including the voice chat, will happen during Version 7.00, coming after Version 6.00 expected in mid-September.

Henderson says that the process has been in the quality assurance phase for the past couple of months, with progress on the application “going very well.”

The partnership was announced in May last year, with Sony Interactive Entertainment also investing in Discord. Last month, Xbox teamed up with Discord as well, aiming to introduce voice chat functionality to Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.

There is no date for the PS5 Discord release yet, but it's expected by the end of the year.
