Spline Architect's New Version Adds GPU Instancing For 1,000,000 Objects Along Splines
Create everything from roads, intersections, and pipes to camera paths and character movement.
Spline Architect by Mike Danielsson is a powerful Unity spline tool for deforming meshes, building roads, developing custom traffic systems, animating GameObjects, and much more. It's designed for both 3D and 2D workflows and integrates seamlessly with Unity's Terrain system.
With it, you can create roads, intersections, train tracks, pipes, curved structures, camera paths, character movement, and more, using virtually any 3D asset. Spline Architect is flexible and is suitable for indie developers, small teams, and professional studios alike.
The purchase includes the core Spline Architect product, along with two add-ons: Terrain Tools, available separately, and Object Cloning, which is included with the package. The tool is compatible with Unity 2022 and Unity 6 across all major render pipelines.
Spline Architect has just been updated to version 2.7.2, with frequent releases and ongoing improvements. One of the biggest recent additions is GPU instancing, making it possible to move up to 1,000,000 objects along splines with ease. In a new Reddit post, the developer also shared the story behind Spline Architect, explaining that he built the tool while working on Touchgrind BMX 3, a mountain biking game. He highlighted the limitations of other solutions, including Unity's native one, and explained how Spline Architect addresses them with a strong focus on performance.
