Stadia Makers Announced

Stadia and Unity announced a new publishing program for independent game developers.

Stadia, a game cloud service run by Google, has partnered with Unity to create Stadia Makers, a new publishing program for game developers. Since the launch of Stadia in November 2019, more than 30 games have been launched.

The new program is viewed as "the first step into an expansion of self-publishing for experienced independent game developers."

Here are some details of the program:

  • Unity developers will provide technical support to Stadia developers during each step of the publishing process.
  • After joining Stadia Makers, you will get up to five physical development kits.
  • Stadia Makers offers funding solutions that will cover some of the costs.
