The Star Wars anime anthology will premiere on September 22 on Disney+.
In case you missed the news, Disney and 7 Japanese animation studios are working on Star Wars: Visions, an animation anthology set in the Star Wars universe. Kamikaze Douga, Geno Studio (Twin Engine), Studio Colorido (Twin Engine), Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Science Saru, and Production IG joined the project to tell their own story, each with a signature animation and storytelling style.
Yesterday, the upcoming project got its official trailer that looks very stylish and unique, merges Western and Eastern animation techniques, and is indeed set in the Star Wars universe. In the trailer, you can see several familiar locations, characters, and, of course, lots of lightsaber duels and force usage.
The English dub voice cast has also been revealed by Disney and it features some big names including Alison Brie, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Harbour, Neil Patrick Harris, Lucy Liu, and Temuera Morrison (who is reprising his role as Boba Fett). You can see more of the cast on the official Star Wars website.
