Star Wars Zero Company Will Not Feature Official Mod Support

The developers held a Q&A session and revealed some details about gameplay features.

Star Wars Zero Company, an upcoming turn-based strategy, will not feature mod support, says developer Bit Reactor.

In a recent Q&A session on the project's Discord server, the game creators answered questions from players, speaking about gameplay features, character creation, and the plot. The developer answered the question about the mod support and said that it won't be available: "We have a lot of respect for the modding community, but there is no official mod support planned for Star Wars Zero Company."

Players on Reddit suggest this is a measure to protect the IP, given that Zero Company is an original Star Wars game. Reactions are mixed: some fans are let down, while others are simply excited to return to the beloved universe.

Star Wars Zero Company is a "gritty and authentic story" set in the twilight of the Clone Wars, where players command an elite squad, taking on the role of Hawks, a former Republic officer. He leads Zero Company on a mission against a rising threat that could devastate the entire galaxy.

According to the developers, the game will not feature any romance systems or branching paths, and though Zero Company is a cinematic story, "this is still a turn-based tactics game at its heart where adept skill and strategy are needed to overcome tense combat challenges." "The overall story is a linear one from beginning to end," the devs clarify.

Star Wars Zero Company will feature some exploration elements: players will be able to explore a section of some planets before engaging in combat on them. Exploration is described as a minor but immersive addition to the adventure.
