Stardew Valley Developer is Open to a Crossover with Fortnite

"I want Pam in Fortnite."

If you have ever visited Pelican Town, the main area in Stardew Valley, one of the things you've probably enjoyed the most was engaging with the town's diverse and delightful characters. While there have been surprising crossovers in video games, we haven’t seen many featuring Stardew Valley yet, except the Meowmere sword introduced to the game via the 1.6 update, which is a crossover item from Terraria. Well, more collaboration is something under consideration by the creator Eric Barone, aka ConcernedApe.

A Twitter user named Panedwards asked about the developer’s willingness to do a crossover with Fortnite, Epic’s Battle Royale. ConcernedApe expressed that he is open to such collaboration, saying, “I’ve been trying to.” He even has one specific NPC in mind — Pam, who has short, curly blond hair and is one of the game's most notable characters.

"It doesn't have to be Pam though, I would be open to anything," Barone further explained. "Abigail & Sebatian could be good. Stardrop or Joja Cola item? Galaxy sword or slingshot?"

But it would be a bit too early to celebrate such collaboration already, as ConcernedApe had clarified to IGN that “there's nothing official in the works or anything like that.” A group of people has been helping him with updates to Stardew Valley, bringing new features, DLCs that are going to be free of charge forever, and portals for the large base of players. The team would play games together sometimes, with Fortnite being one of the games they all enjoyed.

“One time we were playing and someone said 'what if there was a Pam skin in Fortnite?' And it kind of became a meme for us, like we were imagining us all playing as a squad with identical Pam skins. It was just a silly fun idea.”

Other than continuing to update the beloved farming sim, ConcernedApe is also working on Haunted Chocolatier, a pixelated game that will focus largely on combat and be released when ConcernedApe is “personally satisfied that it’s very fun and compelling.”
