Stardew Valley became the first in the top 250 best Steam games of all time according to gamer reviews, overtaking Portal 2.
According to Steam250 (brought to the public attention by LambdaGeneration), the ConcernedApe's indie farming sim, released February 2016, has topped the rating with a score of 8.87, while Valve's 2011 platformer has moved to a second place, with a score of 8.85. The third place is taken by Re-Logic's Terraria with 8.82. The first Portal also remains a fan favorite, currently ranked 10th on the list.
The farming sim has indeed proved to be one of the most popular games, with over 20 million copies sold and a passionate fanbase that continues to create tributes, such as this impressive LEGO recreation of the game's world. Developer Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone is now working on a new title, Haunted Chocolatier, but doesn't abandon his farming sim, saying that it might receive updates "even 50 years from now."
