Sued Modded Hardware Owner Denies Nintendo's Accusations

Nintendo is quick to sue anyone who breathes wrong toward its IPs, and Modded Hardware, a website selling, well, modded Switch consoles preloaded with pirated games and MIG Switches, is no exception.

The lawsuit was filed several months ago, and now the alleged owner, Ryan Daly, has given his answer by denying everything.

In March, Daly agreed to stop selling the modded devices but continued to do so. Then, Nintendo filed a complaint, accusing Daly of six charges, including "trafficking in circumvention devices" and, of course, copyright infringement.

"Typically, when a customer purchases a hacked console or the circumvention services, Defendant preinstalls on the console a portfolio of ready-to-play pirated games, including some of Nintendo’s most popular titles such as its Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Metroid games," reads the lawsuit.

As reported by TorrentFreak, Daly, representing himself, kept it short, responding with either "denied" or "denied due to insufficient information."

Now, the parties will start collecting evidence, and it seems Daly might represent himself again, which is unusual and not wise, in my opinion. Nintendo's lawyers are no joke, after all, and they usually emerge victorious, as seen with the Yuzu emulator, for example. It is also battling Palworld over patent infringement.
