Former Suicide Squad Developer Disapproves of Xbox Series S

"I wish the Series S never existed, man."

Del Walker, known for working on Suicide Squad, The Last of Us II, Batman, and more as a Character Artist, took to Twitter to express his regrets over the Xbox Series S, addressing last week's post on "bad news for Xbox fans."

The developer sharply criticized the device, sharing his discontent about optimizing the games for this console, which makes Xbox players miss the recent releases. The original post published by Pyo recapped the "bad news" that players using this console faced last week. One of them is missing the long-awaited recent release of Black Myth: Wukong, which became the most popular single-player game in just one day. According to the report, the game was delayed on Xbox Series X and S due to technical issues. A Microsoft spokesperson commented that the company was working with Game Science, the developer of Black Myth: Wukong, to bring the game to their platforms.

Another piece of news that recently surprised the Xbox community was that the new Indiana Jones game will launch not only on Xbox but also on PS5. Phil Spencer, the CEO of Microsoft Gaming, commented that the company's experience with bringing the company's games to other platforms had shown that the company's franchises were becoming stronger. "We run a business," he said.

Also, the Twitter post mentions the lack of an FF16 port and the mark of 30 FPS in Avowed, Obdisian's upcoming fantasy RPG. However, the same frame rate was supported in Bethesda's Starfield, and the Game Director Todd Howard described the gameplay experience on Xbox Series S as "great."

Later, Del Walker returned to the topic:

Before, Xbox Series S also had some optimization issues with Baldur's Gate 3, which was released on the device without support for split-screen co-op due to the lack of available memory on the Xbox Series S.

After the launch of the new version of the Xbox Series S last September, Microsoft saw a significant rise in console sales, with this particular model accounting for 24% of total sales. Last June, Xbox Series X|S sales surpassed 21 million units.  However, later, there was a decline in the console's sales, as it was reported that the PlayStation 5 sold twice as many consoles as the Xbox Series X|S this February.
