System Shock Remake Will Show New Citadel, Enemies, Effects & Dismemberment Model

The shooter is coming in March 2023.

Nightdive Studios shared the details of the upcoming System Shock remake, talking about the Citadel makeover, new enemies and effects, and the dismemberment model introduced in the game.

To offer a new experience, the Citadel Station was revamped and some enemies got variants "to provide new challenges to the player in later levels."

Additionally, the developers introduced new effects for the weapons, like the Plasma Rifle.

Nightdive Studios also mentioned the game's custom dismemberment model for every enemy. The team is spending a "staggering" amount of effort on it, so it's definitely something to look forward to.

Finally, the studio confirmed that the remake will be released in March this year.

As some of you have already pointed out this is not our first time announcing a tentative launch window, but over the past few years much has changed – the scope and scale of the project has evolved dramatically and with Prime Matter joining the project it’s enabled us to focus on quality-of-life improvements, bug fixing, and localization support – the last major steps towards releasing a game we’re all incredibly proud of. This has also given us time to go back and polish various aspects of the game that needed that extra shine.
